Bocas Del Toro Bungalows

Imagine a group of islands, as preserved as they were thousands of years ago. Tropical palm trees covering each island, blowing in the wind, while indigenous natives paddle their dugout canoes in blue water searching for fish. This is Bocas Del Toro, Panama. Nestled in the north eastern corner of Panama, this hidden tropical paradise boasts natural beauty as well as many quaint bars, restaurants, and small pension hotels.

You can get to Red Frog Beach, by taking a short local water taxi from Bocas Town. For about five dollars, a friendly local will take you to another island in the distance, that quickly becomes the most beautiful beach setting you've ever laid your eyes on. A small thatched roof bar sits on the beach, serving pina coladas and margaritas for those who are taking a break from surfing or swimming in the warm ocean waves.

Panama bungalows on the north side of Red Frog beach can be rented for an overnight stay. While sleeping, you'll rest to the sounds of crashing waves and a swift breeze.

Currency in Panama

Panamamians use American dollars, although they have a different set of coins. You'll find that Panamanian people are very friendly, and often speak English, although Spanish is their predominant language.

Do not expect a big party scene in Bocas Town, although you may end up in a hostel that has some reggae playing with a few people dancing. As with all tourist areas, watch out for theft and pickpockets.

Renting Cabinas or Apartamentos

If you are planning to stay for several days, it is economical to rent a small casa or apartamento, where you will have access to a kitchen. Local fish markets sell fresh seafood, and produce at very inexpensive prices.
